On May 8th and 9th, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, on the Eckbauer mountain, three women from the LaMunt Crew took part in the first edition of the Everesting Festival.

The GaPa Everesting Festival is based on the internationally recognised principle of Everesting: the aim is to accumulate exactly 8,848 metres of elevation gain by repeatedly walking or running a route corresponding to the height of Mount Everest. The route consists of 18 laps: each lap covers 3.3 kilometres with an elevation gain of 503 metres, making a total distance of 59.4 kilometres. The descent is via the Eckerbauer cable car, which takes participants back to the valley station in no more than twelve minutes.

Anna, Costanze and Dörte are part of the LaMunt Crew, our community of women who are passionate about the mountains and who actively collaborate on the development and testing of our products, a crucial stage in the brand’s growth.

What began as a meeting within the community has, over time, transformed into a genuine friendship, fuelled by a shared passion for the mountains and a love of outdoor sports.

They usually meet a couple of times a year during the events, outings and hikes we organise for the Crew. From this friendship, a completely new and unexpected idea and shared project emerged: participating together as a relay team at the Everesting Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There was the option to compete individually, in pairs or as a three-person relay team; they chose the latter option to experience Mountain Me-Time together, the guiding principle of our brand.

For us, Mountain Me-Time is that moment in the mountains that allows us to reconnect with ourselves and with nature. It is the place where we feel like ourselves, more beautiful, stronger and freer. It’s the time that regenerates the mind, restores energy and helps us regain focus.
With this challenge, Anna, Costanze and Dörte demonstrated how Mountain Me-Time can be perfectly combined with team spirit and an athletic challenge.

They trained together for weeks, without any pressure to achieve a particular result.
They motivated each other and, a few weeks before the event, met at the race site to test the route and familiarize themselves with it. Their team spirit was a key factor, helping them to stay highly motivated and see the project through right up to the day of the competition.

At the start of the race, the team realized they were the only all-female relay team in the event. This realization gave the three athletes a special feeling. Furthermore, as the kilometers passed and they realized they were performing better than expected, their motivation grew ever stronger.

They started the race at 9.00 a.m and ran until 1.30 a.m the following day. To face this challenge, they relied entirely on LaMunt clothing: the Nadia tank top, the Alexandra long-sleeved merino wool tee, the Teresa Shorts, the Manuela wind jacket and the Alessia Polartec® wind vest. This equipment accompanied them for over 16 hours of activity, allowing them to face the variable mountain conditions and the long hours of activity in total comfort.

What left the greatest impression on the girls were the moments they experienced along the trail: the view of the Zugspitze massif at sunset, the clear, starry sky, and that special feeling of tranquillity that only the mountains can offer.
They had a brilliant time, supporting and encouraging one another every step of the way: a true example of girl power.

Despite the significant elevation gain they had to tackle, the Everesting Festival showed the girls that this event was not about sporting performance, nor was it reserved solely for individual athletes. By sharing the route, helping and supporting one another, Anna, Costanze and Dörte experienced moments of both struggle and satisfaction together, bringing home many wonderful memories.

Their goal was not to reach the podium, but to live an authentic experience, enjoy the time spent together and celebrate what the mountains can offer when approached with the right spirit.

We would like to congratulate our three women from the Crew for taking part in this adventure, sharing some fantastic moments together and wearing our garments for this extraordinary mountain experience.

Their experience is not just about 8,848 meters of elevation gain. It’s about friendships born from a shared passion. About women who support one another. And about the beauty of sharing the journey, because some peaks become even more meaningful when reached together.
